Scotty Wood Lindley, 66, passed away on December 14 in Abilene. At the time of his death, he was serving as president of the Abilene branch of the First National Bank of Albany/Breckenridge.
Born in 1954 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lindley married Terry Lee Ramsey in 1977. He earned his BBA degree in finance, with a minor in accounting, from Texas Tech University in 1985. He also attended the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. The couple moved from Richardson to Abilene in 1991 and planted roots in West Texas. Prior to joining First National Bank of Albany/Breckenridge, Lindley served as Abilene market president for Amarillo-based Happy State Bank. Before that, he was president and CEO of First Bank Texas SSB. Lindley was a founding member of Beltway Park Church South in Abilene and serving as an elder emeritus.
Lindley is survived by his wife, Terry; one daughter, Ashly Tara Nicholas and husband Derrick of Midland; two sons—Landon Scott Lindley and wife Chelsea, and Lance Wood Lindley and wife MacKenzi, all of Abilene; and five grandchildren, Coy, Creede and Crayton Nicholas and Graham and Luke Lindley, as well as twin girls due to arrive in early 2021.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Beltway Park Church, Abilene Clay Sports, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Jewish Voice Ministries International. The family also wishes to extend its gratitude to Beltway Park Church and staff, the staff at Hendrick Medical Center South and Hamil Family Funeral Home, along with friends and family who have supported the family during this time.
