Loan Officer | TrustTexas Bank | Kyle, Texas

TrustTexas Bank seeks a loan officer for its Kyle/New Braunfels market.

Cost Center: Kyle/New Braunfels

Department: Lending

Reports to: Senior Regional Lender, Cuero/Kyle/New Braunfels Area

Supervises: None

Summary: Originates and services home mortgage, commercial and consumer loans.  Promotes the bank and its loan products to the service area by participating in and promoting various community activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Prefer a college degree or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of 1 to 5 years experience in lending, bank administration, financial management field or educational equivalent;
  • Working knowledge of loan policy and procedures;
  • Good knowledge of laws and regulations governing the lending function;
  • Strong financial analytical skills;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Good underwriting skills for all types of lending, (mortgage, commercial and consumer);
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System as required under the SAFE Act;
  • Regular attendance and punctuality as scheduled are essential; and
  • Exemplify TrustTexas Bank Core Values of Friendliness, Teamwork, Trustworthiness, High-Quality Service and Commitment

 Specific Job Functions:

  • Aggressively seeks and obtain quality new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross-selling efforts;
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships resulting in a high degree of customer satisfaction, loan growth and recognition of name and brand in the marketplace;
  • Takes loan applications, explains current interest rates and terms and closes loans as required (includes telephone inquiries);
  • Personally interviews all prospective loan applicants and explains the bank’s underwriting guidelines and applicable lending regulations;
  • Stays abreast of regulations and legislation, as well as other political and economic situations that may influence the lending function;
  • Reviews loan applications for completeness and performs all pre-processing functions in a timely manner;
  • Evaluates all loan requests based on the bank’s policies and procedures;
  • Obtains required financial information on applicants as necessary;
  • Personally answers incoming phone calls and schedules appointments;
  • Responsible for individual loan portfolio credit quality, including identification of problem loans, collection efforts and required reporting functions;
  • Responsible for minimizing and effectively managing delinquent loans;
  • Presents loan requests to the Executive Loan Committee;
  • Communicates approval and denials to the borrower;
  • Participate in special projects as required;
  • Actively participates in local business and community activities;
  • Ensures compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act; and
  • Other duties as assigned
