Houston-based Amegy Bank announced the promotion of three long-standing leaders—Adam Traweek, Amanda Erebia and Ray Smaistrla—to executive vice president.
Adam Traweek was promoted to commercial lending manager/executive vice president, overseeing the Southwest commercial banking team. He joined the bank 19 years ago and has held several leadership roles, including co-sponsor of the banker development program and executive sponsor of the Asian Pacific Islander Business Resource Group. A Rice University graduate, he continues to serve the Houston community through mentoring and volunteerism.
Amanda Erebia has been named director of retail banking/executive vice president. She brings 28 years of banking experience, including 23 with Amegy Bank. She began her career as a part-time teller and advanced through leadership roles, earning recognition for her collaborative approach and deep community involvement. She has volunteered with United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the North Shore Little League board. In 2024, Erebia was elected to the Galena Park ISD board of trustees.
Ray Smaistrla was promoted to commercial lending manager/executive vice president. He has spent nearly half of his 40-year banking career at Amegy Bank, most recently serving as senior vice president and regional commercial manager. He has participated as a mentor and mentee in the bank’s official mentorship program and chaired the career mobility and retention committee for more than 10 years. A longtime community volunteer, Smaistrla has served 24 years with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and remains active with the commercial banking and rural entrepreneurship programs at Texas A&M University, along with the Ty Timm Honor Registry.
These appointments underscore Amegy Bank’s commitment to developing strong leaders who drive organizational excellence and support the communities it serves.
