The First National Bank of Central Texas Announces Several Executive Promotions

December 20, 2020

The board of directors of Waco-based The First National Bank of Central Texas (FNBCT) unanimously approved officer promotions during its December meeting.

Steve Gohring has been promoted to chief operating officer. He brings nearly four decades of banking experience to his new position. He’s worked in the operations department at FNBCT since 2015.

John Low has been promoted to executive vice president. He started his banking career in 1981 while he was still a student at Baylor University as a part-time teller. Over the past 39 years, he has become one of the most respected commercial lenders in Waco. He has been a part of the FNBCT team since 2006.

Evan Hankins was promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer. He has been with FNBCT since 2009 and has more than 14 years of community banking experience. The Baylor University graduate has filled many roles during his time as a banker, including teller, credit analyst and lender.

David Brennan has been named banking center president for FNBCT’s Woodway-Hewitt location. He brings more than 20 years of community banking experience to his new role. He has been with FNBCT since the fall of 2019.

“These members of our team are not only good bankers, but they are great people, too,” says Sloan Kuehl, executive vice president and chief lending officer. “We are excited to be able to recognize their hard work and dedication with these promotions.”

Established in 1901, The First National Bank of Central Texas operates branches in Waco, China Spring, Woodway/Hewitt, Hillsboro and Mart.
