Texas Republic Bank Hires and Promotes in the New Year

February 16, 2022

David Baty, president and CEO of Frisco-based Texas Republic Bank, has announced recent key hiring and promotions.

Thomas (Tom) Heslep has joined Texas Republic Bank as Dallas market president/chief lending officer. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University with a banking career that spans 40 years in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Heslep is a member of the Highland Village City Council, Medical City Lewisville board of directors and Cross Timbers Rotary Club in Flower Mound. He also serves on the executive advisory board for the Rusche School of Business at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Joanna Coleman has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president/operations supervisor. She started her banking career nearly 25 years ago at Citizens National Bank in Breckenridge, then moved to Texas Bank (formerly Prosper State Bank). She has been employed at Texas Republic Bank since 2018. Coleman has served her community through various boards, including the Lions Club of Prosper and Prosper Chamber of Commerce.

Jarred Griffin has been hired as vice president/mortgage loan officer. He earned his BBA degree from the University of North Texas and has been in the mortgage industry for 10 years. Griffin serves in several roles in the community, including as chair of McKinney Young Professionals 2021, Leadership McKinney graduating class of 2018 and director of Community Education Outreach Inc. in McKinney.

Kyle Blalock has joined Texas Republic Bank as vice president/loan officer. He has more than 10 years of experience in banking having started his career while in college, working his way up to credit analyst, banking officer and now vice president/loan officer. He graduated from the University of North Texas. Blalock currently serves as president of the board of directors for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Denton County. He is also a member of Denton Hi Noon Lions Club.

Michelle Tellez has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president/human resources. She joined Texas Republic Bank in 2017 and has more than 15 years of human resources experience. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human resources management from Western Governors University. Tellez is a member of Collin College banking and financial services advisory committee. She enjoys sharing her experience with future leaders by volunteering with the Frisco ISD chapter of Business Professionals of America.

Miguel Interiano has been promoted to vice president/treasury service manager. He is a career banker with 30 years of experience, mostly comprised of operations and treasury management. He has served on the diversity council for Amegy Bank. Both he and his wife contribute to the New Beginnings Center in Garland, which assists victims of domestic violence, and are actively involved with Dallas Pets Alive and Paws In The City.

Daniel Nam has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president/loan officer. He joined Texas Republic Bank in 2016 as credit analyst. He has more than 10 years of banking, having started his career with JPMorgan Chase as a relationship banker. While serving there, he was recognized as a national achiever in 2015. Nam has served as worship leader for Disciple Baptist Church for the past 13 years.

Stephanie Creekmore has joined Texas Republic Bank as banking officer/business development officer/social media specialist. After graduating from the University of North Texas with her BS degree in 2014, Ms. Creekmore started her banking career in 2016 in consumer operations, then moved into branch management. Creekmore currently serves as coordinating chair of the University of North Texas Alumni Association Collin County steering committee, a member of the board of the Gunter Chamber of Commerce, member of the Celina Ladies of Influence group and is a current member of Leadership Celina.

Sharon Pudenz has been promoted from personal banker to banking officer/branch operations supervisor in Celina. She joined Texas Republic Bank in 2019. Pudenz has more than 20 years of banking experience, the majority of that in operations management and real estate lending.

Marie Trones has been promoted from operations manager to banking officer/branch operations supervisor in Quanah, having joined Security Bank in 2013. She started her banking career as a teller and has worked her way up through the ranks. She actively serves the local community as a board member for the Quanah Chamber of Commerce.

Brian Burke has been promoted from banking officer credit/administration officer to banking officer/loan officer. He joined Texas Republic Bank in 2016. Burke holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, where he also earned a minor in economics.

Corey Pleasant has joined Texas Republic Bank as a banking officer/branch operations supervisor in Richardson. He started his banking career in 2018 after graduating from the University of Texas–Tyler with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Pleasant has volunteered his time with Feed the City/TangoTab, providing support to families in need with food insecurities.

Established in 1891, Texas Republic Bank is a $400 million asset bank with branches in Frisco, Richardson, Celina and Quanah, as well as a loan production office in Melissa.
