The Texas Bankers Association (TBA) recently announced the elected board of directors for its 2026–27 fiscal year. The officers’ terms run from June 1, 2026, through May 31, 2027. William Lucas, Shelby Savings Bank SSB in Center, has been named TBA chairman. The new vice chair is Michael Neill, First State Bank in Athens. Micah C. Boles, First National Bank of Bosque County in Valley Mill, is TBA’s new treasurer. Ronald Butler II, First Financial Bank NA in Abilene, will serve as immediate past chair.
Lucas has served as president and CEO of Shelby Savings Bank in Center since 2016. He joined the bank in 1998 as a loan officer and later became senior vice president and a member of the board of directors. Prior to his current title at the bank, he was president and chief operating officer. In addition to the Texas Bankers Association, Lucas is also a member of the American Bankers Association and a former chairman of the Texas Bankers Foundation. According to the Texas State Directory, he has served as secretary of the Solomon Zane Allen Foundation and is a member of the Center Rotary Club and the Go Texan BBQ committee. Lucas received a BBA degree in management from Stephen F. Austin State University and is a graduate of the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
