Smith-Johnson Transitions to Manager of Treasury Management Group at WestStar Bank

Giselle Smith-JohnsonEl Paso-based WestStar Bank has announced the promotion of Giselle Smith-Johnson to vice president/treasury management group manager. She will lead a team of treasury management professionals in improving client experience, product development and risk management. Smith-Johnson has been leading and managing WestStar’s Paycheck Protection Program efforts since joining the bank in February 2021.

“I am honored to be part of the WestStar treasury management team,” she says. “A majority of my career has been spent in meeting the cash management needs of business clients, and I look forward to providing the best products and services to our current and future clients.”

Smith-Johnson earned her BBA degree in banking and finance from the University of Mississippi. She has been active in the community, having served as president of the board of directors of YWCA El Paso del Norte Region and board member for Girl Scouts of the Rio Grande. She participated in both Leadership El Paso and Leadership Texas.

Established in 1990, WestStar Bank services El Paso, Las Cruces, New Mexico, and northern Mexico area—collectively known as the Borderplex region.
