Peoples Bank Promotes Garcia to Branch Manager, Welcomes Adams to Commercial Lending Team

Sonya GarciaLarry Allen, area chairman of Lubbock-based Peoples Bank, and Kelly Marsh, regional manager and senior vice president for Cornerstone Home Lending, have jointly announced a promotion of Sonya Garcia to branch manager and senior mortgage loan originator for Peoples Bank Home Loan Center, a division of Cornerstone Home Lending. Garcia has more than 16 years of mortgage experience. She is active with the West Texas Homebuilders Association, Junior League of Lubbock, Girl Scouts, High Plains Wine and Food Foundation and the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.

In addition, Allen announced the hiring of Will Adams to serve as vice president and commercial lender at the bank’s 82nd Street location in Lubbock. nameHe has been in banking for 18 years, working in the Fort Worth area and Lubbock. Adams is a graduate of the University of North Texas and the Texas Tech School of Banking. He was recently appointed to the Lubbock Public Transit advisory board and also serves on the Lubbock Cattle Baron’s Ball planning committee.

Established in 1968, Peoples Bank and its parent company, Peoples Bancorp Inc., recently completed its merger with Houston-based Cornerstone Capital Bancorp Inc., the holding company for Cornerstone Capital Bank SSB. The combined company has more than $3.4 billion in assets. All acquired branches remain open as Peoples Bank, a division of Cornerstone Capital Bank. The Peoples Bank leadership team, branch presidents and support staff remain in place. Allen, former chairman and CEO of Peoples Bank, has joined the boards of Cornerstone Capital Bancorp and Cornerstone Capital Bank and now serves as area chairman for Peoples Bank.
