Knox Joins FirstBank & Trust as Executive Vice President of Consumer Lending

March 3, 2022

Shawn KnoxGreg Garland, president and CEO of Lubbock-based FirstBank & Trust, announced the recent hiring of Shawn Knox as executive vice president of consumer lending and private banking. Knox will oversee bank-wide consumer lending operations and private banking services.

Knox started his career in banking in 1999 just a few years after graduating with his BS degree in business and accounting from Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. He has held several positions throughout his career, including branch manager, sales development and retail executive, working primarily in major metropolitan areas in Texas. Since 2017, Knox has lived and worked in Lubbock, continuing his career in banking as head of consumer lending at another local financial institution.

“Shawn brings a proven track record of success to the bank,” Garland says. “With his financial acumen and extensive experience in consumer lending, I know he will prove to be invaluable to the FBT team.”

As an active member of the Lubbock community, Knox is no stranger to volunteering his time. Currently, he serves as a board member for Habitat for Humanity and the 100 Black Men of West Texas. In addition, he remains involved in the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and Lubbock Meals on Wheels.

Established in 1996, FirstBank & Trust, a subsidiary of Heartland Financial USA Inc., operates 22 locations serving 17 communities in West Texas and the Panhandle.
