Compliance Officer | Bank of the West | Grapevine, Texas

Job Summary:

The Compliance/CRA Officer oversees adherence to Bank of the West’s established policies and procedures regarding federal and state laws and regulations. The job requires extensive knowledge of regulatory protocol for managing Bank of the West’s compliance function. Compliance Officer will provide compliance support for all areas of operations, lending and branch personnel. Maintains compliance audit and training schedules and reports regularly to the Board of Directors regarding findings. Works closely with Executive Management and legal counsel regarding compliance issues.

Primary Job Functions:

  1. Examines Bank of the West’s established policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  2. Develops, implements and maintains the Bank’s Compliance Management System to monitor compliance with regulations and Bank Policies. Detects incidents of non-compliance and institutes timely corrective actions through such a system.
  3. Performs regularly scheduled Compliance Audits, Risk Assessments and Self-Assessments in accordance with Regulatory Examination Procedures and reports these findings to Executive Management and the Board of Directors.
  4. Regularly reviews Consumer applications/Loans and Deposits to ensure Consumer Protection Laws, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Regulations, HMDA and ECOA regulations are met. Identifies, reports and mitigates any deficiencies.
  5. Reviews Consumer Applications and Loans for TILA-RESPA (TRID).
  6. Continually stays abreast of regulatory and compliance changes that affect Bank of the West’s daily operations, deposit and loan products, and policies and procedures.
  7. Coordinates the preparation, dissemination, and revision of new and updated compliance standards and procedures.
  8. Coordinates and monitors regular compliance training for all Bank personnel.
  9. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer maintains and reports the Bank’s CRA Public File.
  10. Reviews and oversees HMDA data collection and reporting (annually) if the threshold is met.
  11. Point of contact for Compliance Exams performed by regulatory agencies.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  1. Previous banking experience in Compliance and CRA.
  2. College degree preferred; high school education required.
  3. Detail-oriented and multi-task-orientated person.
  4. Computer experience is required. Must have Word, Excel, and Windows experience.
  5. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Positive attitude and excellent at fostering a team approach.

General Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle a keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others.
