Herndon Joins First State Bank of Uvalde as Senior Vice President and Commercial/Ag Lender

July 13, 2023

“Bryan HerndonChad D. Stary, First State Bank of Uvalde president and CEO, recently announced that Bryan Herndon has been named senior vice president and commercial/ag lender.

Herndon has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry, but before pursuing a banking career, he worked at the Texas A&M University Research and Extension Center and later sold seed and other related agricultural products. His mother had a lifelong career in lending and Herndon eventually found himself drawn to banking as well. A native of Uvalde, he worked for farm credit institutions and community banks, as well as serving as regional manager for a larger regional bank in Central Texas, before deciding to come back home to Uvalde. Prior to joining First State Bank of Uvalde, Herndon most recently served as banking center president in Shiner.

“We are elated to have Bryan join First State Bank of Uvalde,” Stary says. “I have known him for years as we were previously in the same bank market, and I know his ability as a community banker.”

Herndon received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Texas A&M University.

“The bank and the community are fortunate to have Bryan and his family move back to the area where he started his banking career,” notes Roy Kothmann, executive vice president. “His knowledge will serve the bank and the customers well into the future.”
