On May 5, Houston-based Gulf Capital Bank announced that it has established a new small-business lending group with veteran banker Saman Noorani and underwriter Sebastian Aguirre.
Saman has more than 20 years of experience in SBA loan origination, underwriting, closing and secondary market sales. Prior to joining Gulf Capital Bank, she was senior vice president and SBA regional director for Southwestern National Bank in Houston. Earlier in her career, she worked at Icon Bank of Texas, SBA Outsource, Wallis State Bank, Woodforest National Bank and United Central Bank.
Saman earned her MBA/MIS degree in finance and information systems from the Institute of Business Administration. She currently serves on the board and as secretary of the Houston Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders.
“The strategic addition of Saman to our team will strengthen Gulf Coast Bank’s position in the Houston market,” says Ignacio Pujol Jr., executive vice president and market president for the bank’s Memorial/Spring Branch-West Houston Market.
Gulf Capital Bank was established in 2020.
