Community Banking Association Elects Harris Chair, Names New Executive Committee and Board

In early October, the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) announced that Tracy Harris, chief strategic planning and project officer at Harlingen-based Texas Regional Bank, has been elected chair of the IBAT board of directors for 2024–25. She officially accepted the position during the association’s 50th Annual Convention held October 5–8 in San Antonio. In addition to Harris, members of the community banking organization elected Greg Wilson (president and CEO of Paris-based Lamar National Bank) as IBAT’s chair-elect and Gabriel Guerra (president and CEO of Corpus Christi-based Kleberg Bank) secretary-treasurer.

Harris, Wilson and Guerra will serve on the IBAT executive committee alongside Christopher Doyle (president and CEO of Texas City-based Texas First Bank) immediate past chair; Rick Jamieson (executive vice president and chief credit officer at Irving-based First State Bank) chair of the IBAT Leadership Division; Kevin Monk (executive vice president and chief operations officer at Sulphur Springs-based Alliance Bank) chair of the IBAT Education Foundation; Brad Tidwell (president and CEO of Henderson-based VeraBank) chair of the IBAT Political Action Committee; and Christopher Williston VI (IBAT’s president and CEO).

In addition, IBAT welcomed new and second-term members to its 2024–25 board of directors:

  • J.D. Baker, Llano National Bank;
  • Thomas Canfield, Mason Bank;
  • Mike Fernandez, Texas National Bank, Sweetwater;
  • Sloan Kuehl, First National Bank of Central Texas, Waco;
  • Reed Williams, Brady National Bank;
  • Jay Bearden, Legend Bank, Decatur;
  • Dillon Cecil, Liberty National Bank, Paris;
  • Lee Haggard, First National Bank of Trinity;
  • Michelle Hodge, Industry Bancshares;
  • Mark Long, First Commercial Bank, Seguin;
  • Marty Rivers, American National Bank & Trust, Denton;
  • Ryan Dillin, Cendera Bank NA, Dallas; and
  • Michael Scaief, Texas Regional Bank.
