Bank of Texas Donates $10,000 to CASA of Tarrant County

July 30, 2026

Fort Worth-based Bank of Texas has donated $10,000 to CASA of Tarrant County, a nonprofit organization that advocates for children in foster care. CASA of Tarrant County was selected through Guide the Giving, a Bank of Texas annual program that allows employees to nominate local nonprofit organizations and vote for a recipient in their market.

“Our employees see firsthand which organizations are making a difference in their communities, and Guide the Giving gives them a voice in where we direct our support,” says Bill McCoy, Fort Worth market president. “CASA has a profound impact on children in this community and we are proud to support an organization that means so much to not just our employees but also to families across Tarrant County.”

John Gerdes, a relationship manager for Bank of Texas, nominated CASA. “This cause is important to me because my wife, Elisa, was a foster kid and her CASA had a significant impact on her,” Gerdes notes. He also volunteers his time with CASA and currently serves as its board president. “Our mission is to provide the infrastructure for local volunteers to support child victims of abuse and neglect as they navigate the trauma of being removed from their homes.”

Established in 1984, Bank of Texas is a division of BOK Financial Corp. headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It currently operates more than 30 branches in Texas.
