First State Bank to Break Ground on New Headquarters In Graham

August 14, 2026

On August 7, Graham-based First State Bank announced the groundbreaking ceremony for its new 14,000-square-foot headquarters, scheduled for August 19. The event will take place at 10 a.m. at the future site located at the corner of 4th St. and Cliff Dr. The ceremony is open to the public, with representatives from the Graham Chamber of Commerce and local dignitaries from the City of Graham and Young County in attendance. Cold water will be provided for attendees.

The new facility represents a significant expansion from the bank’s current 4,500-square-foot location, which has served the institution for the past 35 years. Designed to accommodate community growth and modern banking needs, the new building features an open lobby layout with expanded seating areas and additional teller stations, on-site mortgage offices housed directly within the main building, agricultural and large vehicle access via expanded drive-through lanes and dedicated parking engineered specifically to accommodate farm and ranch trucks with trailers and easy access from both 4th St. and Cliff Dr.

“Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our bank’s history,” says Barry Gober, president and CEO. “This new headquarters represents more than a new building—it reflects our confidence in the future, our investment in our employees and our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional banking services for generations to come. We are proud to make this investment in our community and look forward to welcoming our customers into a modern facility designed to support continued growth and innovation.”

Construction is expected to take approximately 12 months. Upon completion, First State Bank plans to host a larger grand opening event featuring building tours and refreshments.

“Thirty-five years ago, our original 3,000-square-foot building represented our vision for the future,” notes Jay Gober, chairman of the board. “Today, that vision has grown beyond what anyone could have imagined. This new 14,000-square-foot headquarters is a testament to the success of our bank, the dedication of our employees and the confidence of our shareholders and communities.”

Established in 1983, First State Bank has seven branches in North and West Texas.
