As Wichita Falls-based American National Bank & Trust celebrates 50 years of service, it has announced a strategic leadership transition. Dwight Berry is continuing his tenure as chief executive officer, while Craig Berry has assumed the role of president, maintaining his responsibilities as chief lending officer.
Dwight Berry, who joined the bank in 1981, has served as both president and CEO since 2011. He will continue to guide the bank’s long-term strategy and vision, drawing on 58 years of banking experience.
“It’s been an honor to work at American National Bank & Trust for nearly 45 years and to serve our community alongside an incredible team,” Dwight says. “This transition reinforces our succession plan and ensures our leadership remains forward-looking. Craig has been instrumental to our success, and I have full confidence in his ability to lead as we enter our next 50 years.”
In his new role as president, Craig Berry will oversee day-to-day operations and lead cross-departmental integration on strategic initiatives. During his time as chief lending officer, he has spearheaded significant expansion from the Wichita Falls market into the Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston regions, achieving 18 percent loan compound annual growth rate since 2020, with total loans now surpassing $1.8 billion.
With 25 years in banking and 10 years at American National Bank & Trust, Craig continues to lead the commercial lending team, market expansion and capital plan initiatives. He serves as a director for AmeriBancShares Inc., a member of the Texas Bankers Association’s CEO and Senior Management Forum and actively supports Fort Worth’s nonprofit organizations and community involvement.
Established in 1976, American National Bank & Trust serves Texas communities from the Red River to the Gulf Coast.
