Alliance Bank Names Thompson Sulphur Springs Market President

February 27, 2025

Jason ThompsonSulphur Springs-based Alliance Bank has promoted Jason Thompson to market president for Hopkins County.

“Jason Thompson has been a vital part of Alliance Bank for almost three decades,” says James Law, president and CEO. “He gained a solid foundation in banking early in his career. Over the years, he built expertise across all lending areas, making him exceptionally qualified to lead the Hopkins County market.”

This promotion coincides with the retirement of Keith Shurtleff, who has served as Alliance Bank’s market president since 2021.

“Keith has been instrumental to the bank’s success, and we are grateful for his 29 years of service,” Law notes. “He and Jason worked closely to ensure a smooth transition for this leadership role.”

A Sulphur Springs native, Thompson earned a double major in agricultural business and economics finance from East Texas State University while working at Alliance Bank as a teller. He serves on the board of the Northeast Texas Children’s Museum and is a member of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and the Sulphur Springs Lions Club, among other organizations.

Established in 1927, Alliance Bank operates more than a dozen branches in North and East Texas, as well as the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
