As vice president of business development at the Greenville location, Joe Winniford has been helping Terrell-based American National Bank of Texas customers reach their goals since 2002. With more than 50 years of banking experience, he is retiring at the end of December. He started his career in 1963 in operations and eventually worked his way up to president and CEO of other institutions before joining American National Bank of Texas. He has been successful in working with a wide range of small-business owners and recognizes their importance in the success of the banking industry.
“I enjoy helping people reach the goals they think are necessary in order to move forward with their lives,” Winniford says. “At American National Bank of Texas, we work daily to live our values of honesty, integrity, respect, commitment and a desire to help our customers be successful.”
Winniford earned his BBA degree from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University–Commerce) and is a graduate of Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. He is a past chairman of the budget and finance committee of Highland Terrace Baptist Church, member and past president of the Greenville Lions Club and designated ambassador for Texas A&M University–Commerce. Winniford has also served as president and director for several local organization boards throughout his years of service to the local community.
