In April, Henderson-based VeraBank announced a new commercial banker in Conroe, as well as a new wealth management team member.
Billy Brannon has joined the bank as senior vice president/commercial banker at its Conroe location. He was born and raised in Conroe and is excited to return home to support the area where his roots began. Brannon has been with VeraBank since 2025, most recently serving customers in College Station. He has extensive experience across multiple sectors of commercial banking—including homebuilder finance, land acquisition, development lending and SBA lending.
A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Brannon earned a degree in finance and banking/financial institutions, followed by an MBA degree in banking and financial institutions.
Outside of work, Brannon is passionate about community involvement and actively participates in the Conroe Noon Lions Club, local Chambers of Commerce and the Montgomery ISD Education Foundation.
“Billy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in commercial banking, and we’re pleased to have him continue his work with VeraBank in our Conroe location,” says Joel Jackson, senior executive vice president/chief lending officer and Southeast region chairman. “He understands the unique needs of businesses in the Conroe community, and his leadership and deep industry expertise will have a positive and lasting impact on the area.”
VeraBank announced that Abbie Treat has joined the wealth management team as vice president/trust and wealth advisor. She joined the bank in March and will be based at the Tyler Market Square office, serving clients throughout the East Texas area. Treat brings more than 21 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 11 years as an advisor. A graduate of Leadership Tyler, she is well‑known for her dedication to professional excellence and meaningful community involvement.
Treat is a member of the Leadership Tyler Alumni Association and serves on the board of the East Texas Estate Planning Council.
“Abbie’s experience in trust and wealth advisory services, combined with her strong ties to the East Texas community, makes her a tremendous addition to our team,” notes Toby Fails, executive vice president/chief wealth management and trust officer. “She shares our commitment to relationship‑based banking and to serving clients with integrity, insight, and genuine care.”
