The First National Bank of Central Texas Opens New Gatesville Branch

May 30, 2024

More than 100 Coryell County citizens braved the stormy weather in May to celebrate the opening of Waco-based The First National Bank of Central Texas’  new Gatesville banking center. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and much-needed support for local nonprofit organizations. At the opening, Will Coward, Gatesville banking center president, presented $10,000 donations to five Gatesville nonprofit organizations: the Coryell County 4H, Gatesville Boys and Girls Club, Gatesville Care Center, Righteous Roots and The Big Sting.

The facility features an ample boardroom that can be used by local groups needing meeting space and a large outdoor pavilion. The First National Bank of Central Texas opened a temporary office in Gatesville last fall while the new building was under construction.

Coward has more than two decades of experience banking in Gatesville and leads a team of seven bankers at the new branch. “The building design and décor were intended with Coryell County in mind, and we invite the whole community to come by for a tour,” he says.

“We are proud of this new facility and invite the people in the area to stop in and see what The First is all about,” says Joe Barrow, chairman and CEO.

Established in 1901, The First National Bank of Central Texas has locations in Waco, Woodway-Hewitt, College Station, China Spring, Mart, Gatesville and Hillsboro.
