Texas Regional Bank Names Recer North Texas President

November 25, 2025

Jim RecerHarlingen-based Texas Regional Bank has announced the appointment of Jim Recer as North Texas president, with oversight of both the community bank and commercial bank. He will work closely with regional presidents Duke York and Dennis Wright.

Recer joined Texas Regional Bank in January as executive vice president of lending. Over the past year, he has been instrumental in implementing successful corporate initiatives focused on efficiency, credit quality and relationship growth. He will continue to develop strategies supporting operational excellence.

With more than three decades of experience in community, commercial and corporate banking, Recer has built a reputation for driving operational excellence, building high-performance teams and delivering innovative financial solutions. His leadership background includes senior roles at Veritex Community Bank, Texas Capital Bank and BBVA Compass, for which he led key business transformations, developed growth strategies and strengthened client engagement. Recer earned his BBA degree in finance from the University of Texas–Austin.

Established in 2010, Texas Regional Bank has 30 banking centers across the Rio Grande Valley, Texas Hill Country, Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
