Legend Bank Announces New Commercial Lender and Appointment of Branch President

January 30, 2025

On January 8, Bowie-based Legend Bank announced the appointment of Ricky Taylor as Wichita Falls branch president/senior vice president and Colton Sheffield as vice president/commercial lender in North Richland Hills.

Ricky TaylorTaylor has been in the financial industry for more than 20 years, specializing in agriculture, commercial real estate, small business, equipment and construction loan needs. He graduated from Midwestern State University and serves as a volunteer for Wichita Falls Meals on Wheels. He also previously served on the Leadership Wichita Falls board of directors.

“Ricky’s commitment to delivering exceptional service to his customers, his active involvement in the communities he serves and his dedication to our core values have made him an invaluable asset on our Wichita Falls team,” says Bret Meekins, executive vice president/west regional president. “His devotion and hard work are a testament to our values.”

nameSheffield has been in community banking for more than six years. He began his career as a commercial underwriter and commercial underwriting officer, then transitioned to portfolio manager. Sheffield earned his BBA degree in finance from Tarleton State University. He currently serves as treasurer of the Tarleton Alumni Association board of directors.

“Colton’s knowledge of commercial loans and banking compliments our lending team in North Richland Hills and the surrounding areas we serve,” says Mindy Monroe, executive vice president/south regional president. “His experience and eagerness to help the community is a valuable asset for Legend Bank.”

“By expanding our lending team, we are emphasizing our commitment to meeting the lending needs of the businesses that help our communities thrive,” says Jeff Brooks, executive vice president/chief lending officer. “These team members bring unique expertise to our [bank] and help us provide tailored solutions to meet the financial needs of our customers.”

Established in 1890, Legend Bank has 13 locations throughout North Texas and is one of the largest cattle lenders in North Texas.
