Loan Officer | Classic Bank, NA | Cameron and Rockdale, Texas

June 1, 2022

Classic Bank, NA is seeking loan officers for its banking offices in both Cameron and Rockdale, Texas.

Essential Functions 

  • Provides service to current and prospective loan customers
  • Makes and services a variety of loans to individuals within lending limits
  • Gives financial advice and counsel to customers
  • Interviews applicants to develop information concerning needs, desires, abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk
  • Contributes to profitability and growth of bank by building, developing, and managing new and expanded client relationships
  • Actively cross-sells appropriate banking products to new and existing customers and refers clients to other banking areas for additional needs
  • Analyzes and forms decisions on loans and terms within established lending limits, or makes recommendations to a superior
  • Follows current loans and credit lines to ensure compliance with terms
  • Coordinates lending activities with others in the organization
  • Reports to the Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer
  • Coordinates and communicates with Branch Manager to assist with rotations of opening, closing, lunch periods, etc.; particularly at small branch locations
  • Other duties as assigned 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Knowledge of Banking operations, policies and procedures
  • Must maintain registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with customers, other departments, and branches
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to computers, calculators, and printers
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment, while meeting consistent deadlines
  • Ability to make quick decisions
  • Positive, outgoing personality
  • Must be able to utilize good judgment, demonstrate patience, and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Ability to synthesize and act on internal and external customer needs. 

Education, Certification, and Experience 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree preferred, High School Diploma/GED required
  • 2 years of Lending experience, or equivalent education and experience
  • Other Banking experience a plus

Working Conditions 

  • Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms
  • Requires corrected hearing in normal range of effective communication via telephone and alarms
  • Must be able to speak
  • May be required to either sit or stand for long periods of time
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.  Considerable effort and eyestrain from continued checking on the accuracy of all work.
