General Position Objectives
The Controller is responsible for:
- Establishing and maintaining the Bank’s financial reporting processes utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
- Adhering to Bank policy and procedures, regulatory and tax laws to properly reflect the financial position of the Bank;
- Ensuring department activities run smoothly and efficiently;
- Providing leadership, training and supervision within the department; and
- Providing a high level of stakeholder relations and service.
The position of Controller assists in:
- Attaining established Bank and department goals; and
- Performing supervisory duties of department staff and managerial duties in the absence of the Chief Financial Officer.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Areas of oversight and responsibility include but are not limited to:
- General Ledger
- Reconciliations
- Financial and Regulatory Reporting
- Accounts Payable
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 5 years of Banking or Financial Institution experience or 15 years of progressive accounting experience with a Bank or Financial Institution; CPA preferred, not required.
