Guaranty Bank & Trust Provides Gift to Texas Southern University Bankers Leadership Program

April 17, 2025

Guaranty Bancshares Inc., the parent company of Mount Pleasant-based Guaranty Bank & Trust NA, recently announced that it has bestowed a gift to Texas Southern University’s Jesse H. Jones School of Business Future Bankers Leadership Program.

The Future Bankers Leadership Program is designed to equip students with the financial expertise, industry insights and real-world experience necessary to thrive in banking and financial services. Through mentorship, hands-on training and career-building opportunities, the program is shaping the next generation of banking professionals while strengthening the economic infrastructure of the communities they will serve.

“At Guaranty Bank & Trust, we recognize that strong economies are built on strong talent,” says Ryan Coaxum, senior vice president of community development and external affairs. “By investing in these future financial leaders, we are not only helping to develop a highly skilled workforce, but also ensuring long-term economic stability and growth within the banking industry.”

“We are incredibly grateful for Guaranty Bank & Trust’s commitment to our students and the Future Bankers Leadership Program,” says John Scroggins, Future Bankers Leadership Program executive in residence. “This investment will have a lasting impact, not only on our students’ careers but also on the broader financial sector as they enter the workforce prepared to lead and innovate.”

“Texas Southern University has a long history of producing top-tier talent, and we are honored to support the Future Bankers Leadership Program in its mission to develop the next generation of financial professionals,” says John Robinson, Guaranty Bank & Trust’s Houston area chair. “Our partnership reflects our deep-rooted commitment to fostering economic empowerment and workforce development in Houston and across Texas.”

Established in 1913, Guaranty Bank & Trust NA has 33 branches across 26 Texas communities in East Texas, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and Central Texas.
