The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) will host community bank leaders from across the state during its 32nd Annual Congressional Visit, February 24–26 in the nation’s capital. During the event, community banks will meet with key policymakers to bring greater awareness to the community banking industry’s legislative and regulatory agenda and share personal accounts of its efforts to foster economic growth and prosperity in communities nationwide.
IBAT’s Annual Congressional Visit provides an ideal opportunity for Texas community bankers to gain visibility with key decision-makers from the Texas Congressional delegation and other important members of the banking industry. Decisions made in Washington, D.C., have a tremendous effect on community banks across Texas, and IBAT’s Congressional Visit is an opportunity to talk to those making the rules and regulations about the impact on customers, banks and the community. Only bankers can provide the real-life examples that tell the true story about the challenges they face every day due to the current regulatory landscape. Many IBAT associate members attend, as well, as they receive valuable networking and face time with bankers, and enjoy being part of this important process.
