Brandon Q. Jones, senior vice president/director of external affairs at Dallas-based Comerica Bank, has been named chair of the UNCF’s 2025 North Texas Walk for Education to help raise funds for underserved students across North Texas who are trying to get to and through college.
The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) is one of the nation’s largest supporters of higher education and serves as a leading advocate for college-bound students. Since its founding in 1944, UNCF has raised more than $6 billion to support students’ access to higher education, provide scholarships and strengthen historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Each year, UNCF supports more than 50,000 students at more than 1,100 colleges and universities across the nation, including 37 UNCF-member HBCUs.
The UNCF North Texas Walk for Education is part of a nationwide initiative to raise the critical funds the organization needs to fulfill its mission. Over the past year, UNCF helped deliver more than 950 scholarships to students in Texas and supported nine Texas HBCUs.
Jones has nearly two decades of financial industry experience. He has been with Comerica Bank for more than five years and, prior to that, served at Texas Capital Bank, Capital One and JPMorgan Chase.
He earned a BA degree in organizational communication/English from Texas Southern University and a master of community development, community organization and advocacy from the University of New Hampshire. He also holds a certificate in corporate citizenship management from Boston College. In addition, he is a graduate of Leadership North Texas, was featured in the fifth edition of Who’s Who in Black Dallas and was included in the Dallas Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list.
Jones serves on the board of the Resource Center and advisory board of the Pinkston Prep Collegiate Academy and as a member of UNCFs North Texas leadership council and the community impact leadership council of the Texas Health Resources Foundation.
