Regulatory Actions

Here are the latest regulatory agency transactions regarding Texas bank applications—including new charters, mergers and acquisitions, and the establishment and relocation of bank branches—as filed with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Texas Department of Banking (TDB), Federal Reserve Board of Dallas (FRBD) and the Federal Insurance Deposit Corp. (FDIC):

April 17–23, 2022

Mergers and Acquisitions

The OCC reports that it has approved an application by The First National Bank of Kemp, based in Kemp, to acquire The First State Bank, based in Rice.

Branches

The OCC reports that it has approved an application by Amerant Bank National Association, based in Coral Gables, Florida, to relocate a branch from 3200 S. Shepherd Dr. in Houston to 2555 W. Holcombe Blvd. in Houston.

The OCC reports that it has approved an application by Guaranty Bank & Trust National Association, based in Mt. Pleasant, to relocate a branch from 120 W. 8th St. in Georgetown to 624 S. Austin Ave. in Georgetown.

The TDB reports that it has approved applications by Frost Bank, based in San Antonio, to establish the following branches: 6545 Hwy. 6 N in Houston; and 4526 Dacoma, Ste. 100, in Houston. The agency also reports that Frost Bank has applied to establish a branch at 2231 Singleton Rd. in Dallas.

The TDB reports that it has approved an application by First State Bank, based in Athens, to establish a branch at S. FM 548 and FM 1641 in Forney.

The TDB reports that it has approved an application by First State Bank, based in Gainesville, to establish a branch at 201 St. Preston Rd., Ste. 200, in Celina.

The TDB reports that FirstBank Southwest, based in Amarillo, has applied to relocate a branch from 300 W. Kingsmill Ave. in Pampa to 321 W. Francis Ave. in Pampa.
