Lamar National Bank Names New Chief Information Officer and Chief Compliance Officer

October 21, 2020

H. Gregory Wilson, president and CEO of Paris-based Lamar National Bank, recently announced two key appointments.

Clay BaumClay Baum has been named chief information officer and will be essential in developing Lamar National Bank’s strategic technology initiatives and driving future innovation efforts. He is an experienced technology professional who has spent the past 10 years in the banking industry. Baum previously served as information security officer with Louisiana-based Origin Bank, where he oversaw the day-to-day cybersecurity operations and strategic planning for the bank’s information security efforts.

“[Clay’s] experience and expertise will help build out our IT infrastructure to compete in the rapidly changing technological environment,” Wilson says. “This infrastructure will provide the foundation upon which we will execute our aggressive strategic plan while providing excellence in cybersecurity.”

Toni FennellToni Fennell will lead the bank’s regulatory efforts as chief compliance officer. She is a risk management financial services leader with CRCM certification focused on banking operations and compliance risk. Prior to joining the Lamar National Bank team, Fennell served as senior vice president/senior manager compliance advisor for Texas Capital Bank.

“Toni Fennell is one of the brightest, most talented compliance professionals in the state, and we are delighted she has joined our team,” Wilson says. “She is part of our strategic plan to build a scalable foundation for growth while keeping within the regulatory framework of building a safe and sound bank.”

Established in 1981, Lamar National Bank operates branches in Paris, Reno and Celina, as well as a de novo in Northlake. It reports assets of $260 million.
