Community National Bank Announces Officer Promotions and Market Presidents

April 16, 2026

In mid-March, Midland-based Community National Bank announced numerous officer promotions and market president appointments.

Sterling Swack has been named the Lubbock market president, bringing with him more than 14 years of banking experience. He has been a member of the Community National Bank team since 2017, most recently serving as Odessa market president, where he played a key role in strengthening customer relationships and supporting local growth. A Lubbock native, Swack’s return to his hometown marks a meaningful full-circle moment in both his personal and professional journey. He earned his BS degree from Texas Tech University. The opportunity to serve the city that helped shape him is one he considers both an honor and a privilege. He is especially excited to be part of the momentum surrounding the bank’s newly opened Milwaukee Ave. branch location in Lubbock.

Community National Bank has promoted Harlton Hemphill to new Odessa market president. He is making a short transition from the Midland headquarters to take the lead in Odessa. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Baylor University and later completed his MBA degree at the University of Texas–Austin. Hemphill’s roots run deep in West Texas.

The bank has welcomed Brad Schneider to the team as senior vice president/Fort Worth market president. As a second-generation banker in Fort Worth, he has nearly 25 years of experience in the banking industry. He has contributed to the establishment of two successful bank branches in Fort Worth. Schneider holds a BBA in finance from Texas Christian University and has completed the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

Eric Fortner has joined the team as assistant vice president/petroleum engineer. He attended Texas A&M University and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University. He has more than ten years of experience in the oil and gas industry, working for Oxy Petroleum, Diamondback and ConocoPhillips before joining Community National Bank in February.

In addition, the bank announced additional promotions:

  • Matthew Barnett has been promoted to bank officer/Midland credit manager;
  • Amber Prieto has been promoted from vice president to senior vice president/lending;
  • Maria Griffith has been promoted to banking officer/digital solutions manager; and
  • Alan Kaup has been promoted from vice president to senior vice president/special assets.

Established in 1984, Community National Bank operates 12 branches across West Texas to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
