Henderson-based VeraBank has hired Dan Leonard for its commercial banking team. He will serve as senior vice president/commercial banker and office at the downtown Austin location. He has more than 22 years of experience serving the Austin business community. His responsibilities include commercial lending and deposit services, while also collaborating with commercial customers to deliver treasury management, SBA lending, wealth management and trust services.
Prior to joining VeraBank, Leonard was a senior vice president/commercial lender at Sunflower Bank NA in Austin for more than six years. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president/Westlake president in Austin for Independent Bank. Earlier in his career, Leonard served at American Bank NA and Guaranty Bank.
Leonard earned a BBA degree in finance from the M.J. Neely School of Business at Texas Christian University and his MBA degree from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas–Austin. Is is also a graduate of the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. Leonard has served a treasurer of the Capitol Area Council of Boy Scouts of America, treasurer of Austin Sunshine Camps and as a soccer coach for the Lonestar Soccer Club.
