VeraBank Hires Shawn as Assistant Vice President and Specialty Asset Manager

February 5, 2023

Phillip ShawnHenderson-based VeraBank has hired Phillip Shawn to serve on its wealth management team as assistant vice president/specialty asset manager. He will office at the bank’s Henderson wealth management location.

Prior to joining VeraBank, Shawn spent six years managing more than 40,000 net mineral acres in the Permian Basin for a family-owned company in Dallas.

“It’s this type of experience and commitment to customer success that makes him an excellent fit for our team,” says Toby Fails, senior vice president/wealth management director. “At VeraBank, Phillip will be responsible for managing oil, gas and real estate interests for wealth management clients in all our markets. We’re so happy he’s here.”

Phillip chose VeraBank because of his love for East Texas and jumped at the chance to move from Dallas back to where he was born and raised.

“He brings incredible asset management experience and industry knowledge to our wealth management clients making him a valuable addition to our team,” says Brad Tidwell, president and CEO.

Established in 1930, VeraBank serves 16 counties in East, Central and Southeast Texas with a network of 40 branches, $3.9 billion in assets and trust assets under management of approximately $950 million.
