Henderson-based VeraBank recently awarded five $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school students whose parents are employed at the bank.
The recipients of the 2024 scholarships are:
- Dawson Zarazinski, Mt. Enterprise High School
- Elena Bryan, Harker Heights High School
- Kylie Fails, Bullard High School
- Aspen Woodall, Sabine High School (Louisiana Tech University)
- Megan Moores, Henderson High School (Texas A&M University)
“At VeraBank, we believe it’s important to invest in the futures of our employees’ families, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to congratulate this year’s scholarship recipients,” says Brad Tidwell, president and CEO.
VeraBank’s scholarship program began in 2017 and has awarded $90,000 in scholarships to 40 recipients. Scholarship recipients, all of whom are children of VeraBank employees, are selected by a scholarship committee each year and the identity of each applicant remains anonymous throughout the selection process. Selections are based on the student’s merit, academic performance, content and completeness of replies and application, as well as school and community involvement.
Established in 1970, VeraBank serves 19 counties in east, central and southeast Texas with 39 branches.
