VeraBank Announces Brenham Branch Opening This Summer

March 13, 2025

On February 19, Henderson-based VeraBank announced that it will be opening a new location in Brenham this summer. The new full-service branch, located at 2690 Becker Dr., will be VeraBank’s first in Washington County and fourth in Southeast Texas.

“We’re eager to expand our reach and plant roots in Brenham,” says Brad Tidwell, CEO. “We embrace the local spirit of this dynamic community and look forward to introducing our authentic, relationship-based banking approach to support businesses and individuals while doing our part in contributing to the growth and prosperity of this thriving area.”

In August 2024, VeraBank welcomed Josh Strong, vice president/market president,  to lead the Brenham team. His diverse background in the financial services industry spans more than 20 years with a focus on corporate banking, oil and gas finance, and commercial and consumer banking. He plays an active role in Brenham through his strong community ties and involvement in several local organizations.

“Being part of a community goes beyond having a brick-and-mortar presence,” says Joel Jackson, senior executive vice president, chief lending officer and regional chair. “With Josh at the lead and more than 20 years of banking experience, we are excited for his leadership in helping our neighbors reach their financial goals through a team genuinely connected and actively involved in the Brenham community.”

Established in 1930, VeraBank serves 19 counties in East, Central and Southeast Texas with a network of 39 branches.
