Texas Republic Bank Celebrates 130 Years in Business with New Branch in Celina

August 7, 2021

Frisco-based Texas Republic Bank is celebrating 130 years in business and 10 years under the ownership of TXRB Holdings Inc. by opening a branch in Celina. Established in 1891, it is the only bank headquartered in Frisco and the oldest bank charter headquartered in Collin County. In 2011, Texas Republic Bank was acquired by an investor group formed by Dallas businessman Tim Cantrell and longtime community banker David Baty. Now, with $400 million in assets, the bank is 17 times larger than when it was purchased by TXRB Holdings Inc. a decade ago.

“Celina is the fastest growing city in the [Dallas/Fort Worth] metroplex and we have numerous contacts and relationships in that market, making it a natural step for us to go there, right on Preston Road,” Baty, who is celebrating 37 years in banking, comments. “We have labeled 2021 as ‘The Year of Expansion’ for the bank, and we anticipate more exciting news in the near future.”

Texas Republic Bank has promoted Ron Corcoran to serve as president in Celina. A shareholder of the bank, he has been a significant contributor to its success during the past 10 years, according to Baty.
