San Juan-based Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Early College High School (PSJA) senior Kazzandra Romero has been named the inaugural recipient of a full-tuition scholarship provided by the Texas National Bank Foundation. This award covers all educational expenses at any university of Romero’s choosing. This year marks the first collaboration between Texas National Bank and PSJA ISD in awarding this comprehensive scholarship.
“We all share in the story of education and getting us to where we are today,” notes Joe Quiroga, president of Mercedes-based Texas National Bank.
“I want to tell my family, my friends, thank you so much for supporting me along the way,” Romero said at the scholarship presentation ceremony. “My teachers, thank you for motivating me. Thank you to Texas National Bank for helping all of us achieve our goals and dreams.”
In addition to Romero’s scholarship, the Texas National Bank Foundation also presented scholarships to seniors from PSJA Memorial High School in Alamo, PSJA Southwest in Pharr and the School of Health Professions.
Established in 1920, Texas National Bank has nine branches in South Texas.
