Texas Bankers Foundation Announces 2023 Cornerstone and LiFE Award Recipients

June 29, 2023

The Texas Bankers Foundation, the charitable arm of the Texas Bankers Association, has announced the 15 recipients of its 2023 Cornerstone and Leader in Financial Education (LiFE) Awards. Each of the banks or bankers selected has demonstrated excellence in community involvement or has promoted financial education in its communities.

“These awards celebrate the banks and bankers who have made a commitment to be cornerstones in their communities and who are dedicated leaders in promoting financial education,” says Chris Furlow, president and CEO of the Texas Bankers Association. “Those recognized this year have had a significant impact on their communities and we are honored to congratulate them on their efforts.”

This year’s winning Cornerstone projects:

  • Central National Bank, Waco
  • First National Bank Texas, Killeen
  • First State Bank of Uvalde
  • North Dallas Bank & Trust Co.
  • PointBank, Pilot Point
  • Prosperity Bank, El Campo
  • Texas Bank, Henderson

This year’s LiFE Awards for banks:

  • Citizens State Bank, Buffalo
  • Jefferson Bank, San Antonio
  • North Dallas Bank & Trust Co.
  • TBK Bank, Dallas
  • Wellington State Bank

This year’s LiFE Awards for individuals:

  • Kimen Johnson, Citizens State Bank, Woodville
  • Adriana Pena, North Dallas Bank & Trust Co.
  • Randy Roewe, First Financial Bankshares, Abilene
