Texas Bank and Trust Announces Officer Promotions in Fort Worth Office

March 12, 2026

Matthew SpiveyIn early March, Longview-based Texas Bank and Trust announced that Matthew Spivey has been promoted to market president for its Fort Worth location and Mason Whitmarsh has been promoted to assistant vice president and lending officer.

Spivey joined Texas Bank and Trust as a senior vice president and commercial lender in the bank’s Fort Worth location in 2019.  During his more than 20 years of experience in banking, he has worked in various capacities, including deposit operations, credit analysis and commercial lending. Spivey holds a BBA degree from the University of North Texas. In May, he will attend the SW Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

Mason WhitmarshWhitmarsh joined the bank in 2021 as a credit analyst before transitioning to portfolio manager in the Fort Worth market in 2025. He earned both his bachelor’s and MBA degrees from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Whitmarsh is a former Division III national champion baseball player for Tyler Junior College, where he also earned an associate of arts degree in business.

Established in 1958, Texas Bank and Trust Co. operates 21 full-service branches throughout East Texas and the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
