SWGSB’s 158th Assembly for Bank Directors Set for Idaho in August

July 11, 2024

The SW Graduate School of Banking (SWGSB) Foundation will convene its 158th Assembly for Bank Directors at the Coeur d’Alene Golf & Spa Resort in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, August 22–25. The Assemblies for Bank Directors attract bank directors and senior management from across the country to discuss the latest issues affecting the industry. From nationally known authorities on corporate governance to leading experts on risk management, the assemblies provide the knowledge to execute board duties with rigor and intelligence. With regulators now requiring a full range of banking knowledge, SWGSB assemblies deliver programs of national interest, tailored to your unique duties and responsibilities. These national banking programs are designed to complement a financial institution’s efforts in assembling a board whose strategic vision and oversight is second to none.

    Keynote Address by Jelena McWilliams

    SWGSB Trustee Jelena McWilliams will deliver the keynote address at the assembly. She is managing partner and head of the financial institutions group practice at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in Washington, D.C. McWilliams immigrated to the U.S. from Yugoslavia with just $500 and rose to chair the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC). She resigned in 2021 after the FDIC sunk into a partisan quagmire. McWilliams is a highly sought-after speaker on trends and topics in the financial services sector, including bank regulatory policy, governance trends, digital assets, fintechs and early-stage company regulatory policy.
