Susser Bank Opens First Full-Service Branch in Austin

October 4, 2024

Dallas-based Susser Bank has opened its first full-service branch in Austin, just a few miles from the state capitol and the University of Texas. Located on the first floor at 901 S. MoPac Expwy., the branch is situated within Barton Oaks Plaza, a prime spot to support Austin’s rapid economic growth.

“Susser Bank first entered the Austin market in 2022, and the opening of this full-service branch presents an incredible opportunity to deepen our relationships and serve a broader range of clients in this dynamic market,” says Mark Metcalfe, executive vice president/Central Texas commercial banking.

In addition to Metcalfe, the Austin team includes:

  • Chris Wheeler, Austin market president;
  • Tim Caperton, senior vice president/senior relationship manager;
  • Salina Bensman, senior vice president/treasury solutions officer;
  • Drew Thurman, vice president/relationship manager;
  • Katie Lisch, vice president/portfolio manager;
  • Natalie Hemphill, assistant vice president/branch manager;
  • Paige Johnson, senior associate;
  • George Ackert, associate;
  • Liza Pledger, senior deposit assistant;
  • Jenna Allen, universal banker; and
  • Arlene Torres, universal banker.

“As a third-generation alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin, I am particularly proud to open our first Austin branch in this vibrant city with an incredible team,” says Sam L. Susser, chairman and CEO.

Established in 1961, Susser Bank has operated under the ownership and direction of Susser Banc Holdings Corp. since 2018. It has banking offices in Dallas, Arlington, Austin, Bedford, Corpus Christi, Fort Worth, Garland, Houston, Plano, Round Rock and San Antonio.
