SouthStar Bank Celebrates 100th Anniversary with Book Drive

September 6, 2020

To celebrate its 100th anniversary this year, Moulton-based SouthStar Bank hosted a bank-wide Birthday Book Drive that culminated on September 7. Each branch partnered with local schools to help add new books to their libraries this fall. On August 28, the bank held its first book distribution at Norman-Sims Elementary in Austin. School supplies collected by the school and community were also distributed. Throughout August, SouthStar Bank solicited new and gently used books at bins placed outside each location to adhere with social-distancing guidelines.

Established in 1920, SouthStar Bank operates 15 full-service branches across the Central Texas region. It holds more than $800 million in assets and focuses on community involvement and personal relationships.
