Here are the latest regulatory agency transactions regarding Texas bank applications—including new charters, mergers and acquisitions, and the establishment and relocation of bank branches—as filed with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Texas Department of Banking (TDB), Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas (FRBD) and the Federal Insurance Deposit Corp. (FDIC).

January 26–February 1, 2025

Mergers and Acquisitions

The OCC reports that Community National Bank & Trust of Texas, based in Corsicana, has applied to acquire Captex Bank, based in Fort Worth.

The TDB reports that Farmers and Merchants Bank, based in De Leon, has applied to acquire Farmers State Bank of Newcastle, based in Newcastle.

January 19–25, 2025

Mergers and Acquisitions

The OCC reports that it has approved an application by Austin Bank NA, based in Jacksonville, to acquire Chasewood Bank, based in Houston.

Branches

The OCC reports that Amarillo National Bank, based in Amarillo, has applied to establish a branch at 8602 Pineridge Dr. in Amarillo.

The OCC reports that Zions Bancorporation NA, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, has applied to establish a branch at 300 Convent St. in San Antonio.

The TDB reports that First State Bank, based in Gainesville, has established a branch at 3427 W. FM 120, Ste. 101, in Denison.

The TDB reports that it has approved an application by First State Bank of Texas, based in Orange, to establish a branch at 27920 Tomball Pkwy., Ste. 260, in Tomball.

The TDB reports that Texas Bank, based in Henderson, has applied to establish a branch at 877 N. Preston Rd. in Gunter.

January 12–18, 2025

Mergers and Acquisitions

The TDB reports that it has approved applications by First Liberty Bank, based in Liberty, to acquire Pearland State Bank, based in Pearland, and First National Bank of Alvin, based in Alvin.

Branches

The OCC reports that it has approved an application by VeraBank NA, based in Henderson, to establish a branch at 2690 Becker Dr. in Brenham.

The OCC reports that it has approved applications by JPMorgan Chase Bank NA, based in Columbus, Ohio, to establish the following branches: the southeast corner of Woodland Hills Dr. and Madera Run Pkwy. in Humble and the southeast corner of W. Bandera Rd./State Hwy. 46 and Interstate 10/US 87 in Boerne.

January 5–11, 2025

The OCC reports that First National Bank Texas, based in Killeen, has established a branch at 10718 Potranco Rd. in San Antonio.

The OCC reports that it has approved an application by UMB Bank NA, based in Kansas City, Missouri, to establish a branch at 5950 Berkshire Lane, Ste. 1600, in Dallas.

The OCC reports that JPMorgan Chase Bank NA, based in Columbus, Ohio, has applied to establish a branch at the northeast corner of Balcones Creek Rd. and I-10 in Boerne.

The OCC reports that Sunflower Bank NA, based in Dallas, has applied to establish the following branches: 1888 Century Park E, Ste. 1115, in Los Angeles, California, and 13480 Evening Creek Dr. N, Ste. 210, in San Diego, California.

The TDB reports that it has approved an application by Frost Bank, based in San Antonio, to establish a branch at 18725 FM 685 in Pflugerville.

December 29, 2024–January 4, 2025

Mergers and Acquisitions

The OCC and TDB report that SouthState Bank NA, based in Winter Haven, Florida, has completed its acquisition of Independent Bank, dba Independent Financial, based in McKinney.

The TDB reports that Columbus State Bank, based in Columbus, has completed its merger with Hill Bank & Trust Co., based in Weimar.

Branches

The OCC reports that First National Bank Texas, based in Killeen, has established a branch at 4100 S. New Braunfels in San Antonio. The agency also reports that it has approved an application by First National Bank Texas to establish a branch at 7700 Samuell Blvd. in Dallas.

The OCC reports that SouthState Bank NA, based in Winter Haven, Florida, has applied to establish a branch at 1409 Botham Jean Blvd. in Dallas.

The OCC reports that Commercial Bank of Texas NA, based in Nacogdoches, has applied to relocate a branch from 410 E. Lacy St. in Palestine to 2121 S. Loop 256 in Palestine.

The TDB reports that Texas Regional Bank, based in Harlingen, has established a branch at 1306 Spacek Rd. in Rosenberg.

The TDB reports that it has approved an application by Maverick Bank, based in Fort Davis, to establish a branch at 6132 Eastridge Rd. in Odessa.

The TDB reports that Frost Bank, based in San Antonio, has applied to establish a branch at 18725 FM 685 in Pflugerville.

The TDB reports that First State Bank of Texas, based in Orange, has applied to establish a branch at 27920 Tomball Pkwy., Ste. 260, in Tomball.

The TDB reports that First United Bank, based in Dimmitt, has applied to acquire select branches of Vista Bank, based in Dallas. The branches are located at 317 Main St. in Abernathy, 701 Main St. in Hale Center, 101 N. Avenue East in Haskell, 930 Frontage Rd. in Idalou, 1523 Main St. in Petersburg, 3000 Olton Rd. in Plainview and 901 Main St. in Ralls.

The TDB reports that Wallis Bank, based in Wallis, has established a branch at 4805 E. Sam Houston Pkwy., Ste. 100, in Pasadena.
