Peoples Bank Celebrates 25 Years of Service in West Texas

September 12, 2024

Lubbock-based Peoples Bank recently celebrated 25 years of service. The bank was established in 1999 when a group of investors led by Larry Allen and Todd McKee purchased Lorenzo State Bank in Lorenzo, which held a charter established in 1968.

In 2000, the bank built its headquarters on 82nd St. in Lubbock. By 2005, the headquarters size had doubled, then doubled in size again by 2013. Peoples Bank opened its first branch at 34th and Memphis in Lubbock in 2003.

From those humble beginnings, Peoples Bank—one of the few locally owned banks in Lubbock—now operates in 10 Texas communities with 12 branches. Allen serves as CEO and board chair, and McKee is the bank’s chief lending officer and vice chair.
