Oklahoma-based First United Bank Opens New Branch in Plano

April 10, 2023

Durant, Oklahoma-based First United Bank has opened a new location in Plano. The bank calls itself a “values-based organization committed to helping people live a lifestyle [the bank describes as] ‘Spend Life Wisely’—centered around four pillars: faith, financial well-being, health and wellness, and personal growth.” In April, the bank is hosting grand-opening events, inviting the community to witness First United Bank’s approach to community banking. The bank is calling the events associated with the new Fort Worth branch “Pillar events.” Pillar events being held between April 4 to 15 include a blood drive, Shred Day, NonProfit Community Fair, Veterans Resource Fair & Budgeting Workshop, Faith and Business Lunch and Learn, and Hands-Only CPR and Stop-the-Bleed Training. All of the events will take place at the bank’s new location at 3930 Dallas Pkwy. in Plano.

First United Bank’s Fort Worth location includes:

  • An open floorplan with an “inviting glass-walled workspace, where everyone is welcome, and people move about among various resource centers or mingle and converse with coffee and refreshments.”
  • An education and seating area with available reading materials and resources addressing the bank’s four pillars.
  • A large community room available to customers and organizations for meetings and events.
  • A technology table, with wifi and relaxed group seating for online banking or research.
  • Ample private office spaces for customers, where bank employees work with customers’ challenges—developing a budget, planning for needed cash flow or just opening a checking or savings account.

Established in 1900, First United Bank operates more than 95 bank, mortgage and insurance locations throughout Oklahoma and Texas.
