Oklahoma-based Bank Opens First Texas Branch in Frisco as First Lonestar Bank

September 12, 2024

First Lonestar Bank, a division of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-based First Liberty Bank, has entered the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex with the opening of its full-service office in Frisco on July 11. The branch is located at 2600 Dallas Pkwy., Ste. 140. First Lonestar Bank operated a loan production office in Frisco since January 2023.

First Liberty Bank was founded in 2006 by Joey Root, president and CEO, along with Dallas Cowboys coach Barry Switzer, singer/songwriter Toby Keith and commercial real estate developer Hunter Miller. Today, the bank’s total assets are more than $700 million.

“In 2022, our executive team decided it was time to look at a Texas location,” Scott Hughes, president of First Lonestar Bank, told Frisco Community Impact. “We looked at several different places around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The north DFW market is just phenomenal. The more we researched, the more we realized that this part of the DFW area would be ideal for our first location.

“I foresee we will have future locations in the DFW metro area and other parts of the state,” Hughes continues. “We are more than pleased to be in Frisco and Collin County, but we certainly want to deliver our products and services throughout Texas.”

Established in 2006, First Liberty Bank has branches in Oklahoma City and Norman, Oklahoma, as well as its new Frisco location under the name First Lonestar Bank.

Bankers Digest acknowledges the Frisco Community Impact and its senior multiplatform journalist, Sierra Rozen, for reporting used in this post.
