Norris Named Director of Information Technology Security Examinations at Texas Department of Banking

Ruth Price NorrisOn February 1, Texas Banking Commissioner Charles G. Cooper announced the appointment of Ruth Price Norris as director of information technology security examinations at the Texas Department of Banking.

Norris graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BBA degree in finance/banking and financial institutions in 2005. She joined the Texas Department of Banking in 2006 as an assistant examiner and in 2008 she transferred to the IT division. In 2010, Norris obtained the certified information systems auditor designation. She earned her commissioned examiner designation in 2011 and was promoted to chief IT security examiner in 2018.

“Ruth brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the director of information technology security examinations position,” Cooper says.
