Regulatory Actions

Here are the latest regulatory agency transactions regarding Texas bank applications—including new charters, mergers and acquisitions, and the establishment and relocation of bank branches—as filed with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Texas Department of Banking (TDB), Federal Reserve Board of Dallas (FRBD) and the Federal Insurance Deposit Corp. (FDIC):

March 12–18, 2023

Branches

The OCC reports that it has approved an application by Texas Republic Bank NA, based in Frisco, to establish a branch near the intersection of FM 455 and U.S. Hwy. 377 in Pilot Point.

The OCC reports that First Financial Bank NA, based in Abilene, has relocated a branch from 1716 Briarcrest Dr., Ste. 400, in Bryan to 2445 Harvey Mitchell Pkwy. S in College Station.

The OCC reports that Austin Bank, based in Jacksonville, has applied to relocate the following branches: from 865 U.S. Hwy. 271 N in Gilmer to 611 U.S. Hwy. 271 N in Gilmer; and from 26400 Kuykendahl Rd., Ste. A110, in The Woodlands to 26502 Kuykendahl Rd. in Spring.

The TDB reports that Freedom Bank, based in Alamo, has established a branch at 511 E. Gravis Ave. in San Diego, Texas.

The TDB reports that Frost Bank, based in San Antonio, has established a branch at 9651 Katy Fwy., Ste. 100, in Houston. The agency also reports that Frost Bank has applied to establish the following branches: 1155 N.E. Loop 410 in San Antonio and 3970 FM 2181 in Hickory Creek.

The TDB reports that Jefferson Bank, based in San Antonio, has established a branch at 114 W. 7th St., Ste. 100, in Austin.

The TDB reports that it has approved applications by Texas Regional Bank, based in Harlingen, to establish the following branches: 18460 Blanco Rd. in San Antonio and 2025 W. Southlake Blvd. in Southlake.

The TDB reports that First State Bank, based in Gainesville, has applied to establish a branch at 719 N. New Rd. in Waco.
