On September 5, Veritex Holdings Inc., the holding company for Dallas-based Veritex Community Bank, announced that Dominic Karaba has been hired as president and chief banking officer of Veritex Community Bank, effective September 18. He will report directly to C. Malcolm Holland III, who remains chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Veritex Community Bank, as well as president, CEO and chairman of the board of Veritex Holdings Inc.
Karaba has more than 28 years of experience in the banking industry and most recently served as UMB Financial Corp.’s president of commercial banking. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Puget Sound and a graduate degree in banking and bank leadership from the Pacific Coast Graduate School of Banking.

Established in 2010, Veritex Community Bank was founded by Holland and operates primarily in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and Houston metropolitan areas. It has recently expanded its digital banking presence into several new markets, including Waco, Austin and San Antonio.
