Jefferson Bank Expands its Footprint Into Austin Market

March 29, 2023

San Antonio-based Jefferson Bank has expanded into the Austin market with a new 5,000-square-foot commercial banking center and office in the historic Norwood Tower at 114 West 7th St., Ste. 100, in the heart of downtown Austin. The office opened to the public on March 15 and offers an extensive array of commercial banking services, including commercial lending and treasury management, along with concierge services such as private banking, trust services and wealth management.

Jefferson Bank’s Austin team, led by Jon Rebello, Austin market president, includes seasoned team members Jeremiah Bush, commercial banking group manager; Viviene Ngo, commercial real estate manager; and Michelle Deskins, senior vice president and senior treasury management sales officer. Collectively, the Jefferson Bank team brings more than 90 years of industry experience to the new location.

The Austin team is projected to grow commercial loans by $100 million this year and $500 million in the first five years. Additionally, the bank will have more than 20 employees at the downtown Austin office by the end of 2023 and has future plans to expand commercial and private banking services in the greater Austin area.

“With veteran banking executive Jon Rebello at the helm, Jefferson Bank is excited to open in the thriving Austin community,” says Paul McSween III, chair. “I think our relationship-based banking philosophy will be welcomed in the Austin commercial banking community.”

The bank chose Austin’s iconic Norwood Tower because of its proximity to the state capitol and the city’s prosperous business district. “Like Jefferson Bank, Norwood Tower has a long and proud history,” Rebello says.

Established in 1946, Jefferson Bank operates banking centers in San Antonio, Boerne and New Braunfels in addition to the new Austin office.
