Regulatory Actions

Here are the latest regulatory agency transactions regarding Texas bank applications—including new charters, mergers and acquisitions, and the establishment and relocation of bank branches—as filed with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Texas Department of Banking (TDB), Federal Reserve Board of Dallas (FRBD) and the Federal Insurance Deposit Corp. (FDIC):

January 17–23, 2021

Mergers and Acquisitions

The OCC and the FRBD report that VeraBank National Association, based in Henderson, has applied to acquire Panola National Bank, based in Panola.

The TDB reports that Happy State Bank, based in Happy, has applied to acquire First National Bank of Tahoka, based in Tahoka.

Branches

The OCC reports that it has approved an application by JPMorgan Chase Bank National Association, based in Columbus, Ohio, to establish a branch at the southeast corner of E. Basse Rd. and Nacogdoches Rd. in San Antonio.

The OCC reports that it has approved an application by Wells Fargo Bank National Association, based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to establish a branch at 1100 S. Preston Rd. in Prosper.

The OCC reports that Bank of Brenham National Association, based in Brenham, has applied to establish a branch (Bank of Chappell Hill) at 9000 Hwy. 290 E in Chappell Hill.

The OCC reports that Newfirst National Bank, based in El Campo, has applied to relocate a branch from 50 Sugar Creek Center Blvd., Ste. 100, in Sugar Land, to 16554 Creekbend Dr., Ste. 150, in Sugar Land.

The OCC reports that Zions Bancorporation National Association, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, has applied to relocate a branch from 10701 W. Bellfort in Houston to 11213 W. Airport Blvd. in Stafford.

The TDB reports that it has approved an application by First State Bank of Texas, based in Orange, to establish a branch at 3475 Phelan Blvd. in Beaumont.
